Privacy Policy and Terms of Use

Lifewords Brasil está comprometida em proteger sua privacidade e usar seus dados de maneira correta. Armazenamos e processamos todas as informações pessoais. Esta declaração explica como coletamos, usamos e armazenamos suas informações pessoais e as implicações para você. Ela deve ser lida em conjunto com nossos termos de uso.

Why and how we collect information

As a mission partner, we collect and store your personal data in a secure database in order to fulfill our legal, statutory and contractual obligations and our goals as a non-profit association. This will include registering and fulfilling requests for Bible resources and processing and recording donations. We also use our database for registration, fundraising, promoting the organisation’s interests, and maintaining our accounts.

The personal data we collect may include name, gender, date of birth, home address, personal and business email and phone numbers, cell phone numbers, information related to church, denominational affiliation, family members, and bank details for regular payments.

We collect your personal data directly from the information you provide us through our web site and order system, and through your phone calls, forms, letters, and emails. We also collect data indirectly through third parties (for example: donation sites). We may collect information that you make available on, for example, Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin or similar platforms, and we also collect non-personal data such as IP addresses, details of pages visited and files downloaded when you visit our site. Occasionally, we may collect publicly available information from published sources, such as in articles, newspapers, or blogs.

How we use your personal data

We take your privacy seriously and do not share or sell your data to other organisations, or make it available without your consent, unless required by law. We process your data based on legitimate interests – your involvement and interest in our mission. We keep your data only as long as necessary for legal or operational needs.

We may use your data to provide you with a personalized service based on your request or history, or geographical location (such as information about a new feature, or an invitation to a local event). We may use your data and, occasionally, publicly available information, to help us understand you and to provide you with timely and relevant information.

Communications by post

We use your data to provide news through posts about our ministry and resources, and to provide opportunities for you to get involved with our work through prayer and/or giving. If you do not wish to receive our newsletters, occasional feature updates, or resources by mail, please let us know by phone, email, or letter (see addresses below). All of our mail communications offer you the opportunity to opt-out of receiving such communications in the future.

Electronic Communications

If you make a request for resources, you will receive emails about your request, any donations you make, and a survey about attendance. You can opt to receive other email communications (including our monthly emails with ministry news, prayer requests, and new resources; and our campaign news) during the online ordering process or through our website. Except in direct relation to any requests you make, our policy is to send email only if you have indicated to us that you want electronic communication. All our emails offer the opportunity to decline future emails from this list.

Communications by phone

If you request funds or make a donation and provide us with your phone number, we may contact you by phone regarding your request or for any questions on the processing of your donation. If you would prefer that we do not contact you by phone for any other purpose, or if you would prefer that we do not contact you by phone, please let us know – see below “How to get in touch”.

Other Uses

We may send your data to other agencies to arrange for mailing or other services, and they are governed by the same privacy rules. Occasionally we compare our data with external databases to ensure their accuracy. This can include, but is not limited to, age, address, name update, and socioeconomic data. Your data will always be treated securely. Please let us know if you do not want us to process your data in this way.

Occasionally we may rely on volunteers to perform some of our tasks, and they are obliged by their volunteer contract to protect your privacy, just as we do. We may need to transmit your information when required to do so by law or regulatory agency.

Your rights

It is your right to request access to any of the information we hold about you. If you wish to see your personal data, or if you believe it to be incorrect or incomplete, please write to us at the email or address below. We will respond to your request within 28 days of receiving your communication. If you feel that your data has been misused or that we have not kept it secure, please let us know.

Changes to the Lifewords Privacy Statement

We will periodically make changes to this statement to keep it up to date and in line with current legislation. Please check back regularly to see what has changed.
